LGBTQ+ Inclusion

"We are God's people, We all belong." - Sr. Kathy Sherman, CSJ

The Congregation of St. Joseph believes in and respects each human person. We know that our LGBTQ+ siblings offer many gifts and graces to our communities, and yet, face daily discrimination, marginalization, and even violence. Animated by the Holy Spirit and our charism of unifying love, we commit ourselves to the healing and transformative journey towards interculturality and solidarity.

We will continue to do the necessary work as Sisters and Associates to ensure that LGBTQ+ people and allies find meaningful welcome in our church and in our world. Please join us as we live into God’s Dream of One Sacred Community.

As we celebrate Pride Month this June and beyond, Ministry of the Arts has created the digital downloadable card below to share a message of celebration and inclusion with our LGBTQ+ siblings.

As a gesture of gratitude or as encouragement to take more meaningful action, you might send these cards to:
  • elected officials
  • parish leaders
  • community organizations
  • friends and family

Please click below to view and download cards.

We pray for change and hope that our art and music will serve as a catalyst for the rising up of greater love, unity, justice and community wherever they find a home.
